This handy lead connects between the ContestConsole and the antenna tuner socket on your ICOM radio to provide a low-power carrier for tuning, at the push of a button.
It is ideal for use with tuners that do not come with a control interface to an ICOM radio, meaning that the tuner does not have any way of triggering a low power carrier from the radio by itself. For such tuners, the tune lead saves you the work of changing the radio mode and power level every time you want to produce a tuning signal.
Available as as an easy-to-make kit. Length approximately 1 metre.
Please note: using this lead normally disables the radio's internal tuner. The lead is connected to the radio's external tuner interface. When you press the button, it is equivalent to an external tuner initiating a tune sequence, which causes the radio to produce a low power signal suitable for tuning. However, since the radio thinks there is an external tuner connected, it will normally disable the internal tuner (may vary between radios though).
